THE PROPHETIC "WEEK" OF EXILE
Daniel 9:27 "The ruler will make a treaty (or enforce a covenant) with the people (Israel) for a period of one set of seven, but after half this time, he will put an end to the sacrifices and offerings. And as a climax to all his terrible deeds, he will set up an abomination of desolation, until the fate decreed for this defiler is finally poured out on him."
Here we see that there is one set of seven, or one week, and halfway into the week, this ruler will end the sacrifices and then set up the Abomination of Desolation, which we know from Daniel 12:11 is the Dome of The Rock which began construction in 688 AD and the al-Aqsa mosque which began construction in 707 AD. The prophecy says that at the half point of the week, the Abomination of Desolation will be set up. Half of seven is three and one half. So, from 553 BC until 707 AD is 3 ½ "days", and from 707 AD until 1967 AD is 3 ½ "days". How long then is one of these "days"? The week of exile lasts for 2,520 years. Divide 2,520 years by 7 and you get 360 years. There is that number again! So, in prophecy, not only can a day equal 360 days (a day/year), but a day can also, on special occasions, equal 360 years (a year of years). Let us get back to the 3 and ½ days. So, if 7 days equal 2,520 years, then 3 and ½ days equal 1,260 years. Where have we heard the term 3 and ½ days before?
